Today we announce the founding of UPRISING! Records. The label is run by Fernando Reis, a veteran in the international rock & metal scene for over 20 years, with experience from numerous distribution companies such as Megamúsica, Recital Records, Fiomúsica, as well as a founding member or Major Label Industries. Currently, he works as the international promotor of Mighty Music/Target Group. As a journalist, he has worked in all Portuguese printed metal magazines - Riff, LOUD! and Ultraje - and currently contributes for Metal Hammer Portugal. UPRISING! will be digitally distributed by The Orchard, and also physically by SPV (world, except UK and Denmark), Plastic Head (UK) and Target Group (Denmark). The first band taken under UPRISING! wings is the Danish duo LOTAN. Lotan is a melodic black metal band from Denmark. Formed by Phillip Kaaber (Vanir) and Martin Rubini (Vanir), and joined by live members; Lasse Guldbæk (Abscission, Vanir), Christian haystack (Fall of Pantheon, Ethereal Kingdoms) and Jon Smith (Ethereal Kingdoms).
Lotan is currently getting ready to unleash the first wave of EP ́s due to release in 2021. The first, entitled "Nihil Sacrum", will be unleashed in January. A first single, "Acta non verba", will be out on November 3rd.
Lotan’s lyrical universe is inspired by a mix between satanic spiritualism and existentialism. The music is melodic, heavy, and aggressive.
